The importance of image has become one of the biggest factors in the success of anyone selling a product. If you’re a creative artist; be it in the form of an actor, dancer, model, or musician (singer, DJ, producer, band); then YOU are the product.
Having a selection of quality photographs is essential due to the various mediums photos are used in including:

These photos will be in public circulation for promotional purposes and as such, you will need to impress the world with these images.
