Garrett VanDusen

Founder | Chief Executive Officer

Garrett C VanDusen is edging to be one of the most influential individuals in Canadian Hip-Hop. As founder and CEO of Live Vision Macro-Management, Garrett’s savvy street maneuvers and his Johnny Cochran court room technique allowed him to quickly gain growth in the industry.

Determination, belief and perseverance allowed the Instructor alongside his 4 master-mind business partners (Colette Chand, Aaron Bhawan, Jamie Smith, Adrian Eden), the possibility to start laying the foundation to an empire that has potential to become Canada’s elite answer for all Indie artist’s questions, concerns and desires.

Never being compared to such impresarios as Berry Gordy, or Robert Johnson (Founder / BET), there is still one important similarity. Where Berry, Robert strove to dig a path for those who came after, with the interest of bridging the gap between genders, cultures and races. Garrett ensured that the country of Canada would “defy all odds” when it came to indie artist trying to compose, deliver and strive for their passion.

That attitude alone has been percolating within the barriers of Mr. VanDusen’s cranium since his youth. Persistent with never the fear of failing, the entrepreneur hormone allowed Garrett to grow with the Canadian music industry hand in hand. Continually inching his way into the business of Canadian Music, he now stands before you as Live Vision Macro Management.

Garrett C VanDusen, one could say he is the perfect ambassador for the term, “It takes a Village to raise a child”. With Jamaican blood, American ties and a seedling to a young-single Canadian mother, Garrett’s growth as a child was irrelevant at times. Chasing a dream but being consumed by quick money, Garrett’s adolescence was a mimic of most urban youth’s lives.

Since as early as 1995 the era of Tupac, Biggie and Big L, Garrett always found himself tied up with the music scene. When not in the streets, playing sports or hitting the books, Garrett began using his spare time to help promote early hip-hop hall events and club shows in his local home town. VanDusen’s first crossing with one of Hip-Hop’s most creditable mentioned, would occur the summer of 1996 when the Clothing franchise “The Closet”, acquired the showcase and musical talent of “Outkast”. Persistent to help, Garrett took time off of school, and hit the road to Windsor, ON Canada where the show was to be held at the Caboto club.

Never having an eye on any certain position in the music industry, VanDusen always put his best foot forward for his passion and musical enjoyment, but always letting his pimp foot follow close behind. Situations in life arrived, and with the arrival of a daughter, and Garrett now attending College at Lambton in Sarnia, ON. The love for music always stayed close by, single handily conjuring a promotional stint while running one of the many franchise stores “The Closet”. Garrett started hosting “Freestyle Fridays” at one of the many city’s Strip clubs. Having such up-coming American acts as the Lyricist, and Canadian front men D.O. (Defy the Odds) at his showcases, Garrett VanDusen started growing a positive vibe and popularity amongst his pears, schoolmates and music lovers.

The frontier for music started opening Garrett’s eyes, mind and soul. Reaching for more, the opportunity quickly came to him. As another one of the world’s trend setters in music heard of the movement Garrett VanDusen was stirring up in Sarnia, ON, this mogul’s management reached out to him suggesting an up-coming concert. With temptation at the tips of his fingers, Garrett jumped at the chance to host one of the elite of the elite, Snoop Doggy Dog. Once again joining forces with “The Closet”, the two forces collided together providing a concert that would set standards in the city of Sarnia for years to come.

This was the thread that started the rope Garrett C VanDusen started to climb to success. With a college education in Law / Paralegal studies, university credentials in Information Technology, recipient of various teachers certificates, and about 100 000 air miles spent reaching for a dream. Garrett’s resume does not justify his talents professionalism and the force that Live Vision has inspired to be. Circulating and working with Canada’s Classified, D.O., Shad, Slakah the Beatchild, Glenn Lewis, Sweatshop Union, Kyprios, Rich Kidd, DJ Nana, Zaki and as the list goes on. You can state that VanDusen has put in his 10 000 hours in according to the book “Outliers”, and with his growth, strength and knowledge the time is now for Live Vision to take stand and set standards.
